Old Town Bookshop
Although situated five minutes away in fashionable Victoria Street, Old Town Bookshop is a spiritual brother of the West Port bookshops. Established in 1978, it was taken over sixteen years ago by Ron Wilson, an ageless bohemian. Old Town provides a gentle introduction to the sometimes intimidating world of antiquarian books, stocking everything from early 1650s theology and literature to the modern crime fiction of Ian Rankin. Its specialisations are Art & Architecture, Literature and Antiquarian and Scottish, and it also has a substantial collection of Scottish prints and maps from many parts of the world, dating from 1620s-1880s.
