Armchair Books
A favourite stop for bibliophiles for more than fifteen years, Armchair Books has a good general stock of fiction, non-fiction and antiquarian, split over two premises. Clustered with assorted paraphenalia, soft toys, and hand-written notes, Armchair Books offers a respite from the mundane modern world. Look up to see the Red Baron’s plane filled with small books; look down to find the shop mascot, a beautiful border collie called Struan.
Access: 80cm doorframe with 67cm between shelves to get to the back section of the shop (the main event area). Quite a tight fit with limited maneuvering room.
