Donations!
A huge thank you to everyone who has donated money to this year's book festival. Every donation is very much appreciated and goes directly towards our essential costs. We have raised nearly £1.000 so far and with a little more help should be able to programme another entertaining festival this year.Even though we run the book festival on a minimal budget, we do need some money to pay for printing costs, microphone hire, cake ingredients etc. And the rub is – we don’t have any, or at least not quite enough.
Owing to the massive success of last year’s ‘help we have no money newsletter,’ we are once again appealing for funds. I’m sure you all know, but none of us get paid so donations go straight where they are needed most!
You can send cheques made payable to West Port Book Festival (to: West Port Book Festival, Edinburgh Books, 145-147 West Port, Edinburgh, EH3 9DP) or hand over a stuffed brown envelope in a dark corner of one of the bookshops. Or send me an email (hannah@westportbookfestival.org) and I’ll send you an email courtesy of paypal which allows you to donate to our worthy cause online by using either your paypal account OR a credit or debit card.
In exchange, we will include your name on our programme. More importantly, you will be helping a young group of bookish enthusiasts run a festival that is innovative, accessible and amusing (we hope).
