Sponsors and Help Needed!
Yep, the West Port Book Festival needs you. Clarence the water buffalo has his beady eyes turned in your direction. Cash, alcohol, help, cakes… please support us. We are a strictly not-for-profit organisation, run by people with a lamentable, ‘why can’t we do this?’ attitude.
Common sense is the least common sense of all.
We are beginning to look around for individual and business sponsors for this year’s main festival. Individual donations of £10 plus and business sponsorship of £200 plus are most welcome. There are various ways that we can thank you for your support or promote your business, but please remember that our hospitality is personal rather than corporate.
As a not-for-profit organisation, the support we receive from sponsors is invaluable.
We’re also looking for people who would like to help out and/or make cakes.
Possible jobs include almost anything known to man. You could walk the dog, try and get us some programme advertisers and cut up tickets using some fairly blunt scissors. WE ALSO NEED TOUGH PEOPLE for heavy lifting. We have a limited stock of chairs so we move them between venues. We also have some cool home-made benches that you’ll need to be taught how to assemble. If we followed health and safety guidelines this procedure would take a week and we’d use a slide-show. As it is, we might manage with a few minutes.
Cakes include anything with sugar and, preferably, chocolate, unless you are The French and make amazing tarts. We serve cakes at some of our events. It would be good if you didn’t poison anyone so please bear this in mind.
